Did you ever feel like yet another year passed and you haven’t achieved anything?

Over the past few years, I’ve started to feel it more. It may be something that comes with getting older. But I feel like I am running out of time. And the worst part is that I only remember it when I can’t do anything about it.

The other night, I had an incredible idea for a habit-tracking app. And I wanted to work on it right away. But it was late, I had to go to sleep. So, I postponed it. And I still didn’t have the time to get back to it.

Were did that half‑written novel end up? Where is the online course you promised to make?

We get excited about new ideas when our energy is tied up elsewhere. And then, we postpone those ideas until we realize it’s too late.

Reading Burkeman’s math — 4,000 weeks, give or take — was the push I needed. Here’s what Four Thousand Weeks: Time Management for Mortals taught me.
