Hi challengers!

I’m sorry I have been missing these last two weeks. I had another mostly unexpected trip. And I wasn’t prepared with anything for you to read during my absence.

I could have written something during the flight. But I realized I needed a long break. And since I won’t take any others for at least two or three months, I am happy I took some time to relax. I can promise The Challenge won’t stop anymore for a little bit.

Ok, I removed excuses from the checklist. Now, it’s time to have fun.

  • First of all, my top five articles of the month. I know you love them. So I will keep writing about them.

  • Also, most of you showed interest in my private life. So, in this issue, I will share a few insights of my trip.

  • And last, I prepared the 12-Week Year Notion Template. You can find it in the workspace I shared in the previous premium e-mails. Or you can scroll down below, where I explain how to use it.

Top 5 Articles of The Month

1 — Leadership on the Everest

Leadership is a topic I often read about. I am a team leader myself at work. And I like to read and study new ways to make my team feel appreciated and united.

When I started reading this article by Edurne Pasabán and Borja Porras, I thought it would be the same leading and teaming up stuff. And most of the article confirmed my thoughts. But there’s one thing that caught my attention I never thought about — the idea of leading from behind.

I don’t know anything about climbing. But when a group climbs a mountain, the leader always stays behind to check on the team and serve those left behind.

Our society sees the leader as the image of the team — the person who takes all the praise and condemnation. But in this view, the leader supports the team from behind and values every person who stays in front.

2 — The Role of Luck in Our Lives

We always think luck is something you can turn around. And I wrote many times about it because you can outrun luck with persistence and commitment (or, at least, we love to think like this.

But in this article about luck and chance, Mark R. Rank explains how luck influences our lives.

Sometimes, good people have bad luck. Other times, bad people have good luck. And we love to think things will turn around. But if it does, it’s not because of destiny or anything like that. It’s just a possibility. And we have to deal with it.
