But first, let’s talk about the suggestions for the month.

Top 5 Mental Health Articles of The Month

I read many articles about mental health in April. I want to start meditating again this month, so I gathered information on how to start over. But meditation wasn’t my only focus. I also found interesting articles about emotional suppression, quiet quitting, etc.

So, here are my top 5 mental health articles of the month.

1 — How to Ignore Emotions

Emotional suppression means deciding to ignore an emotion.

This is the definition that Nick Wignall provides in his article about the topic. But I have never been good at ignoring my emotions.

I could control the impact my emotions had on my behaviors when meditating regularly. But I never achieved the ability to suppress my feelings. And, according to Nick, this could bring many advantages.

  • First of all, you can delay the process of your emotions until later in the day. So they won’t impact any other activity you must do during the day.

  • And second, you will be more calm and distant. Therefore, you will gain new perspectives on your emotions.

However, emotional suppression has to remain a temporary solution. And if you keep delaying the moment you deal with your feelings, it can become emotional avoidance. So, be careful not to misstep and fall into one of these problems.

2 — What is Quiet Quitting?

I quit my last job almost two years ago. In reality, it has been one year and six months. But I feel like I was gone far earlier. And I wanted to understand why I didn’t feel part of the organization anymore.
