Relax, learn, or level up your projects - what will you do next?
A few useful techniques to expand your business
Happy July, reader!
Are you ready for the Challenge?
The Challenge of the Month (July 2022)
Last month, we talked about peak hours and how different people may find it easier to work in the morning, in the afternoon, or even late at night. And I hope the challenge of the month forced you to try different settings until you find your chronotype. So you may be more productive now.
But productivity is nothing without scaling. And whatever the project you are working on — a work assignment or your lifetime dream — you may have some more free time now. So you can decide to scale up — if you care enough about it — or do new things.
When you have more free time, you can invest it into three things.
If work intensity has increased, take some more time to relax. Burning out is always an eventuality you need to consider. And it is always better to avoid it instead of escaping it.
If you want to scale up but do not feel ready yet or want to learn something completely different from what you are doing, you need to invest your time into learning more.
Not evolving your working routine makes you feel stuck. So if you have more free time, you want to find new ways of scaling up your project. With time, your body will optimize most of the tasks so you can perform them at your best. But infinite improvement doesn’t exist. At one point, you can’t improve anymore. So find new ways of leveling up by collaborating with others, for example, or using digital optimizers.
But what about scaling? How do you scale up?
If you want to scale up your project, you can act in many ways. The cheapest one is automating. On the contrary, the most expensive is hiring someone.
1 — Automate
Not every project will give you consistent revenue right from the beginning. On the contrary, most will take years to become sustainable. So if you want to scale up your project but can’t spend too much money on it, start by automating.
You can automate your working flows. So besides finding your peak hours, try working in batches, for example. Serializing your tasks and splitting them into categories help you reach deep work and maintain flow more efficiently. Also, by batching repetitive tasks, you turn down the entry barrier once for all of them, and you don’t have to do it separately.
You can automate your schedules. For example, if you are a content creator, you could use software like Buffer to schedule your work instead of publishing them singularly.
2 — Hiring
If you ever gain enough money from your project, consider investing some of them to scale it up by hiring new people.
In this case, the advantages are multiple because your employees will not only help you with the work. They will put their own feelings and ideas at work, and your project could scale up even faster.
But of course, you have to get there.
So here is the challenge of the month for July 2022:
Decide what you want to do with your free time. You can use it to relax, learn new things, or level up your project. And once you do, engage with it every day for 30 days.
